Here we are again...
Sitting at the lab for bloodwork number 4 this week, my poor arms. Funny how each one scrutinizes the handy work of the one before them. Oh the bruising!
I fine it interesting that the only ones who are up early enough to be here for 6:45 seem to be the elderly.
Looking forward to this all being over.

The ER is an interesting place
I always hear interesting stories while waiting in the ER;
- an older man with chest pains and his bossy daughter (maybe she's just scared)
- a teenage kid with blood gushing from his ankle and his mom and 3 siblings running around laughing
- a young foot ball player with potentially broken ribs
- a woman who was riding her bike and taken out by someone opening their car door
- someone with a 3 police escort
- a little girl who stuck a rock up her nose
And a few others...oh and Spice Girls on the TV, perfect.

I feel like a douche...
So this ad made me feel like a total douche for owning an iPhone. In my defense I have the 4S (made that choice because of the camera in it), have no interest in the 5 and when I'm up for an upgrade next year I have been researching other options.
Now that the disclaimer is done, Samsung you did an amazing job on this ad...so perfect.
Oh and I wanted to add that while searching youtube for this ad, the ad I was required to watch before watching the ad I searched for was actually this ad! I found that quite entertaining...I must be tired.

Well hello blood tests, you are too familiar. Hoping you lead to nothing and all my symptoms can be a result of stress!

And now...the chicken!
I tried a recipe I've always wanted to try but never willing to take on. It was amazing but oh so much work. Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken, found on Pinterest.
So I had chicken from M&M Meat Shops (which is horrible and salty btw) that I've been trying to find something to do with to make it taste decent. This was a great opportunity as if it doesn't work out, not like I ruined good chicken!
I cut the chicken breasts in two along the entire breast to make 2 pieces that were 1/2 inch thick. I then sifted together 1 cup flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1.5 tbsp ground ginger, 1 tbsp nutmeg, 1 tsp thyme, 2 tsp smoked paprika.
I then made an egg wash by mixing 2 eggs and 4 tbsp of water. I filled my deep pan with about 1/2 inch grape seed oil and set on just below medium heat with a screen over it. I took each piece of chicken and dipped in the flour, then into egg wash, then into the flour again. This was not a fun job but I've never been a fan of handling raw meat. I did 3 smaller medium sized breasts and had enough flour, consider doubling the recipe if you use more or larger pieces. Once the oil was hot (I drip water in it to see if it pops) I placed 3 pieces of chicken and cooked for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Flipped them for 5 more minutes.

Meanwhile in a medium sauce pan I made the honey garlic sauce. 2 tbsp olive oil and 3/8 tsp garlic powder (or 3 cloves garlic but I ran out!). I let this cook for a little bit and then added 1 cup honey, 1/4 Bragg seasoning (or soy sauce) and some pepper. I let this simmer for about 5 minutes and be warned it boils over very easy so keep an eye!
Once the the chicken was done I placed it on some paper towel on a plate so that I could cook the other 3 pieces. A wire rack would have been better but I didn't have time to find mine as I didn't think to dig it out in advance! When the chicken is done I dipped it in the honey sauce coating the whole piece and onto the plate.
Served with basmati rice that was cooked with a little saffron. The extra honey sauce was decent on the rice too but the chicken was oh so good!
Entertaining
I found this entertaining. I find the cult following for such a simple game interesting...and how addicting that game actually is! At least for me. I have it installed on my phone, ipad and PC and I've finished it multiple times on each platform!

The soup...
So the broccoli cheddar soup...
In my soup pot I melted 1/4 cup butter, threw in 1/2 an onion (chopped) and 1 clove of garlic (chopped or crushed). I let that cook for a bit and then stirred in 1/4 flour and added 2 cups 3.25% milk while whisking consistently to avoid lumps.
Then I whisked in 2 cups chicken broth (mine is no sodium) and brought this to a boil.
I then dumped in 3 cups broccoli and 1 cup chopped carrots. and let that simmer for 20 minutes.
Then added 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp cloves and 12 oz cheddar cheese. Stirred all together, a bit of salt and pepper. Let that simmer for 10 more minutes and YUM!
Supper adventure
I chose some items to make for supper that ended up being almost too much for me to undertake. But I did it and they turned out great!
Thank you!
Yesterday was a difficult day. Not feeling well, need to catch up on 2 days of missed work plus run the show by myself. A dear friend came to my rescue and bought me a bowl of my favorite spicy curry chicken soup.
Saved my day, thank you!

New blender!
So after using my same blender for many years I came across the newer model up from mind...in orange! I think the fact that it was in the same color was the only reason I decided to upgrade.
First items blended in it? Bananas, coconut milk, instant coffee and a bit of honey. Quite good coffee ice cream. This blender is way more powerful than my last one...I actually jumped when I turned it on it's so much louder!
Oh but yum...
Oh what a bathroom
I was very very jealous for a few moments...then I thought about having to clean it. The jealousy was gone pretty quick.
Yesterday's supper
Nothing like a pan full of baking sizzling after a horrible day. Perogies were added soon after...yum

Total Recall
Has anyone seen Total Recall? Is it work it? Now when I ask if you've seen it I mean both the old and new. I just looked it up and am really not thrilled with the casting for it. When I watch the trailer all it makes me think of is wanting to watch Demolition Man!!! So I'm wondering if it's worth checking out as I did enjoy the first one long ago.
Mmmm salmon
I love making salmon and am always looking for great recipes. Today I did this:
1/3 cup bragg seasoning (or soy sauce)
1/3 brown sugar
1/3 water
1/4 grape seed oil
Cooked until simmering and sprinkled with garlic powder and pepper. Added salmon, cooked until tender. Was quite good!

For Hector
I know this has nothing to do with tech support and web design but I needed a 'hear me roar' moment, and a pathetic one at that! Still made me lol
**Edit**
Reading the pic again made me reminisce way back when I was getting ready for a gaming tournament. I had to go in to buy a legit copy of Desert Combat in order to register to compete. The salesman spent 20 minutes trying to tell me I wouldn't like that game and I should get the Sims instead. I let him go on and on for my pure entertainment and then told him "Well that game sounds great but I really need this to register for Fraga." He looked quite embarrassed after that.
OK I'm done now. Back to work I go. Mmmmm Matcha Cocoa.
And again...
So a guy calls me at work asking for the person in charge of the website and all our technology support. I advise that's me (we have a small office so I manage). He replies, "Oh really?" Yup that's me, what do you want? "Oh my name is Hector and I'm from some bullshit company that specializes in web design and helps with a business' online image. We also provide all the tech support for your business. I'd like to talk to you about that." I advise we are just fine and do not need extra support. "And you do it all? Maybe we should meet, we can help as little was you want or as much as we should." As much as you 'should' hey?!
He kept going on and on and every time I described that it was me doing the web and all again I'd get this "You huh" or "Oh really". He keeps describing the things he can help with and I keep telling him what I already do on my own. Then I remember that I do have good old Kevin helping me with off-site back-up and I advise I do have added support from a tech from such and such a company and if I happened to forget all I know and need someone's help it would be him that I'd ask. "Oh, well I guess we wouldn't want to take away from that then, good luck with that." *click*
I'm curious how that conversation would have gone if I sounded manly or in fact was a dude! Don't underestimate me just because I have tits! I'm not sure why I even let that conversation go and didn't just hang up.

Is it done...
I watched the final episode of Weeds. All I can say is...perfect. Not all the seasons were equal to the rest (7 in particular was awful) but overall Weeds was a great show. I'm pretty sure I watched season 1-5 at least 3 times!
The ending was complete, all loose ends tied, every story complete and I loved the cameos of past characters as well! I did miss Ignacio though, wonder why they missed him. Just when I was about ready to never see Mary-Louis Parker's oddly shaped mouth again it was done.
Serious business...
I've never seen Ze so serious. The beginning part makes me want to give him a hug!

Breakfast
This morning it's 1/2 cup oats, 1cup coconut milk (the jug not the can), 1 tbsp coco, 1 tsp cinnamon and a frozen banana.
I used my muesli mix for the oats and with the added seeds and barley it ended up kind of chewy. Note to self for next time. Otherwise it was quite tasty!

The memories
Talking about the possible Short Circuit remake I was reminded of this entertaining chap. I question yet again why my parents let me watch that movie as many times as I did!

Finally
I finally found the time to add the rest of my tshirt collection to my gallery! I was missing some good ones!!
For shame!
I was very sad to see a Big Lebowski mash-up. Maybe it stems from me not being into the whole zombie craze AT ALL, it just seemed to me that any true Lebowski fan wouldn't dream of it... The Big Lebowski deserves better than that!
Comfort is in the body of the wearer...
There are some fashions out there that I just never understood. I would always make a comment in my head along the lines of something not being comfortable and why on earth the person chose to wear it that morning. After two weeks of wearing my scrub clothes I was overly happy this morning to put on my blouse again. This made me rethink that stance. Many people would think my business attire to be uncomfortable and I've had people ask me if I'm going out for dinner simply due to the way I'm dressed outside of work. But I must say I am most comfortable in this attire and was thrilled to feel great walking out the door this morning. If I could afford to wear Victoria Secret's suit every day I'd be in heaven...now to just learn to walk in stilettos!
I can't wait for my jeans and cargo pants to be saved for yard and farm work, and my yoga pants for yoga! Oh well, 10 more weeks to go!
So now instead of thinking, "They can't be comfortable, why would they wear that!?" I'll just consider the fact that they shouldn't wear it because it looks bad. They very well could be comfortable! Then again I should just think positively and not criticize...I'll focus on that instead.

Laugh or cry...
My super catholic grandfather was sadly told he's dying from cancer. While sitting around the table talking about him and how he's ready to go to heaven I can see tears welling up in everyone's eyes and hear cracks in their voices. So of course my lack of thought filter causes me to blurt out, "isn't he going to be pissed off when he gets to heaven and finds out the Mormons were the right ones!"
Laughing and crying at the same time is better than just crying.

Surprisingly yum!
My supper the other night was spinach layered on a piece of sprouted grain bread and topped with cheese. I cooked it in a pan with a life to melt the cheese. Then off the heat I topped with egg salad I'd made from some farm eggs. (always add a touch of mustard)
I was pleasantly surprised. Yum!

Dreamt about...him
Dreams are interesting, especially mine. I should start documenting my dreams, often when I tell people i get a "what's wrong with you" or "what did you eat before bed" reaction.
When I dream of people in my life the dreams always end up even more odd. The strangest person entered my dreams a few nights ago. This guy that works with a friend of mine, I barely know him but I've always disliked him with an added touch of extreme attraction, from the moment I saw him I had a feeling of hatred...sounds horrible I know! But at the same time I just want to be near him. It's like a lover from a past life that murdered me or something. The passion and attraction followed by this extreme hate. He always looks at me in these odd knowing ways. I haven't seen him in months...was surprising to have him in my head.
Now if only I could remember my dream after these couple days. I just remember waking up thinking, "man...what the fuck was THAT?!"

Made it
Another day, I walked in the door and just laid on the floor in the sunlight and breathed for 15 minutes...

Thank you universe...
No better diet then craziness in life.
Digging through my baking cupboard I find half a big bag of mini eggs left. I think they'll be a great snack while doing homework. Thankfully I forgot them on the counter.
You know a stress eater is really stressed when they forget to snack!

My new forum signature idea...
What do you think?
Now to find something to write in the bottom right. Maybe a play on the Dos Santos beer guy. "I don't always play scout, but when I do..."
I need ideas...and someone to digitize it!
