One year for Thanksgiving I was in charge of the pie. I used my mom's old recipe but made a few slight changes. This was probably a mistake as now everyone raves about my pie and I am asked to make it for most gatherings. Over the years I've found that fresh pumpkin is best and decided the only way for me to know what is being put on the pumpkin while growing is to grow them myself. So now every fall I harvest about 10-15 pumpkins specifically for pie...oh and I just love roasting the seeds! Mmmmm
